Outdoor Sports Goal Frame
A reverse-engineered product CAD case study for an outdoor sports goal. The model was developed from reference imagery and practical measurement interpretation, rebuilding the tubular frame, net layout, angled support members, connectors, clamps, and hoop geometry for design review and product communication.
Project Overview
The goal-frame project focused on translating visible product construction into a clean SolidWorks assembly. Key work included tubular frame layout, corner connections, rear support angle, net representation, clamp details, and assembly proportions.
Project Category
Outdoor sports toy / goal frame
Design Method
Reverse-engineered CAD from image reference and measurement interpretation
Main Components
Tubular frame, rear supports, net geometry, connector rings, clamp details
Material Context
Plastic-coated tubular frame with netting and connector hardware
Standard Context
EN 71-1 and BS EN 71-8 considered as design-reference context; no public certification claim
Software
SolidWorks
Output
Public render, redacted PDF pack, and Draco-compressed GLB web model
Status
Public-safe case study prepared
Engineering Challenge
The main challenge was maintaining realistic frame geometry and net attachment logic from image-based references while keeping the model light enough for online 3D viewing.
Design Solution
The final model captures the yellow tubular frame, rear bracing, connector rings, net paths, and clamp features as a clean public-facing product CAD case study. The website version uses an approved render and Draco-compressed GLB.
Key Features
- Image-referenced SolidWorks model of tubular sports-goal geometry
